Who We Are

Yellow Sparks is a studio based in England. We make websites, Chrome extensions and other small software products.

In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Yellow Sparks. If you have a privacy question or want to exercise one of your rights, email privacy@yellowsparks.com.

What We Collect

We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details, or other direct personal information through website analytics. Free use of our Chrome extensions does not automatically collect that information. Some extensions create a pseudonymous extension account when installed so that licenses and paid features can work. That account uses a server-issued identifier and technical account details, not a name or email address. We receive direct personal information only when someone deliberately submits it, for example to contact us, verify or recover an account, or make a purchase.

That can include:

Analytics information can include pages visited, device and browser details, approximate location, referral source and how long a visit lasts. It does not include your name, email address or other direct identifiers.

Why We Use It

We use contact and support information to answer you, keep the conversation straight and protect the site from misuse. Our basis for doing that is our legitimate interest in running Yellow Sparks and, where relevant, taking steps you ask us to take before entering into an agreement.

We use analytics only with your consent, to see what is useful and what needs attention. We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers.

Cookies and Analytics

We store your analytics choice in your browser. Analytics is optional: you can accept it or reject it from the banner, and the site will work either way.

If you accept, this site uses Google Analytics to understand general site use. Google may process analytics information outside the United Kingdom. You can change your choice by clearing this site’s stored data in your browser and making a new selection when the banner appears again.

Chrome Extensions

Each extension's Chrome Web Store listing and permissions explain what it can access. The product-specific disclosures below form part of this policy. Data stored only in your browser is still described here because it may include information from websites or services you use.

Our extensions use Chrome local storage and, where appropriate, IndexedDB on your device to persist preferences, settings, saved content, and account state. Most extension data stays on your device and is never transferred to Yellow Sparks or another party. Yellow Sparks account access tokens are stored locally and are sent only when needed to authenticate a request to the Yellow Sparks API that provides an account, license, payment, or sync feature.

ChatGPT Conversation Booster

ChatGPT Conversation Booster accesses content on ChatGPT pages only to provide its features: collapsing messages, saving bookmarks, adding reusable prompt tricks, and read-aloud controls. When you save a bookmark, the extension stores the selected assistant-message content, its summary, and related conversation and project names and identifiers in IndexedDB on your device. Prompt tricks are also stored in IndexedDB, while extension settings and account state are stored in Chrome local storage. The extension monitors narrowly scoped ChatGPT navigation and rename requests only to keep this local bookmark metadata current. This information stays on your device and is not sent to Yellow Sparks or any third party.

The extension also creates and refreshes a pseudonymous extension account with the Yellow Sparks management API to provide licenses, plan information, and paid features. That exchange includes the extension identifier, a server-issued account identifier, license and authentication data, and related technical account information. Free use does not automatically collect your name, email address, or payment information. If you choose to buy a paid plan, Yellow Sparks and Stripe, our payment gateway, process the name, email address, and purchase information needed to complete and administer that purchase. Stripe is the only third party with whom Yellow Sparks shares purchase-related personal information.

For read-aloud, the extension accesses the ChatGPT session token and voice setting locally only to make ChatGPT's own voice request. It does not store that ChatGPT session token in extension storage or send it, your ChatGPT credentials, conversation content, or voice setting to Yellow Sparks. If you choose to export your Conversation Booster data, the extension creates an encrypted .ccb backup containing its local bookmarks, prompt tricks, and settings. The file is saved where you choose and is not uploaded by the extension. Yellow Sparks does not sell this data or use it for advertising.

Claude Booster

Claude Booster accesses content on Claude pages only to provide its features: collapsing messages, saving bookmarks, adding reusable prompt tricks, and read-aloud controls. Caves of Wonders

Caves of Wonders accesses your Chrome bookmarks and open tabs when you use its organization and tab-session features, and provides its workspace through Chrome's new-tab page. It stores caves, chests, bookmarks, links, tab-session details, tags, notes, workflows, uploaded images, and other workspace content in IndexedDB on your device. Preferences, settings, and account state are stored in Chrome local storage. If you enable the optional workspace lock, its password data remains on your device and is not sent to Yellow Sparks. The extension also creates and refreshes a pseudonymous extension account with the Yellow Sparks management API for licenses and account features. The account exchange includes the extension identifier, a server-issued account and device identifier, license and authentication data, and related technical account information.

Most Caves of Wonders data remains on your device. Cloud sync is optional and is available only when you choose to purchase and enable it. When enabled, the relevant IndexedDB records, including caves, chests, bookmarks, tags, bookmark-tag relationships, tab sessions, workflows, images, and user settings, are transferred to the Yellow Sparks sync service so that they can be synchronized between your authorized devices. The service may continue to synchronize these records automatically while sync remains enabled. Yellow Sparks and the cloud providers used to operate that service, including Microsoft Azure where applicable, process that synced data only to provide the sync feature. You can choose not to enable sync.

Free use does not automatically collect your name, email address, or payment information. A free user may still deliberately provide an email address and message through the account recovery, support, or feature-request forms; Yellow Sparks uses it only to handle that request. If you choose to buy a paid plan, Yellow Sparks and Stripe, our payment gateway, process the name, email address, and purchase information needed to complete and administer that purchase. Stripe is the only third party with whom Yellow Sparks shares purchase-related personal information. Yellow Sparks does not sell this data or use it for advertising.

Tab Snapshot

Tab Snapshot accesses open tabs, windows, and tab groups to save and restore sessions. Manual snapshots are created only when you ask for one. Auto Snapshots collect the same current tab, window, and group details only while you have enabled that setting. Saved snapshots can include tab URLs, titles, window and tab-group details, and names you give snapshots. Snapshots are stored in IndexedDB on your device, while settings and a pseudonymous extension account are stored in Chrome local storage. Its account exchange with the Yellow Sparks management API includes the extension identifier, a server-issued account identifier, license and authentication data, and related technical account information. If you choose to purchase, the account may also contain the name and email address associated with the purchase.

You can export and import a local Tab Snapshot backup file yourself. That is a user-triggered local action, and you can choose password protection before saving an export. Free use does not automatically collect your name, email address, or payment information. If you choose to buy a paid plan, Yellow Sparks and Stripe, our payment gateway, process the name, email address, and purchase information needed to complete and administer that purchase. Stripe is the only third party with whom Yellow Sparks shares purchase-related personal information.

Google Drive backup is optional. If you choose to connect Google Drive and enable backup, Tab Snapshot uses the Google Drive permission you approve to create, read, update, and delete its own backup files in your Google Drive. Snapshot data is encrypted in the extension before upload with a password you choose. Google may process the encrypted backup files and the necessary file and folder metadata, such as names and timestamps, as your chosen storage provider. Yellow Sparks does not receive your Google password, Google OAuth token, backup password, or the contents of those Google Drive backups. Google authentication is used only when you connect Drive or use its backup and restore features. You can revoke Drive access through your Google account settings; doing so stops cloud backup and restore until you reconnect it. Yellow Sparks does not sell this data or use it for advertising.

Local extension data remains in your browser until you delete it through the relevant product, clear browser data, or uninstall the extension. Synced or purchased-account information is retained only as long as needed to provide the feature, maintain required business records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep contact and support messages only for as long as we reasonably need to deal with the enquiry and keep necessary business records. Analytics information is kept according to the retention settings in Google Analytics. We may keep information longer where the law requires it or where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Your Rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask us to provide a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to processing or provide it in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Email privacy@yellowsparks.com to make a request. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Our pages may link to services such as the Chrome Web Store, Google, Microsoft Azure or Discord. They operate their own services and privacy policies. Please read those policies before providing them with information.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information we hold. No online service can promise absolute security, so please avoid sending sensitive information through a public contact form unless it is genuinely necessary.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our website, products or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be on this page with its revision date.
